Grower Relations
Information, knowledge, and understanding are key elements in the
Nisei Farmers League (NFL) strategy to helping our grower members succeed in an
increasingly complex regulatory environment. Our membership is kept
informed by personal contact from staff, bi-monthly newsletters,
chapter meetings, and seminars. Complicated issues are presented
in a clear, understandable format. Changes in regulations or requirements
are disseminated on a timely basis. Every effort is made to assure
our growers are kept up-to-date and informed.
The NFL also works to cultivate an understanding relationship between
our grower community and the legislative and regulatory officials
responsible for setting and implementing Ag-related policies. This
provides these officials with a clearer understanding of the practical
needs of agriculture and allows our growers have a more effective voice.
Furthermore, the NFL promotes a philosophy of bipartisanship and
working closely with other agricultural organizations to achieve
our common goals.
Compliance Resources
For members, the Nisei Farmers League has a variety
of support materials available at a very minimal or no cost such as
Company Policy and Employee handbooks, Safety Training (TIPP)
programs, Poster packets (for the various State and Federal required
postings), First Aid Kits (already signed off by a physician), and
much more items to help keep your business in compliance with the
various agencies.
For non-members, the Nisei Farmers League still
offers the Poster packets and First Aid Kits as described above but
for a higher cost than if you were a member. If interested in
purchasing any of these items, please call the Nisei Farmers League
office at (559) 251-8468.
